HIKING

New trail reveals the wonders of Armenia

Armenia. This tiny country in the Caucasus is steeped in history and legend. Despite its small size, Armenia is packed with stunning scenery and abundant wildlife.

One of the most adventurous ways to explore this nation at the crossroads of Europe and Asia is to hike the newly created Transcaucasian Trail. This 500-plus mile path comprises a network of fresh trails that link Soviet-era 4x4 tracks, herding routes, and footpaths. The trail will take you through the mountains to ancient monasteries, stone villages, and abandoned caravanserais from the days of the Silk Road. Here you'll find over 4,000 of these secluded monastic masterpieces that date back hundreds of years. Some of the most jaw-dropping ones are perched atop mountains or in remote gorges. If you're looking for an authentic and adventurous way to experience Armenia's history, culture, and natural beauty, the Transcauscaian Trail (TCT) should be on your radar.

Is Halmahera the next Raja Ampat?

Hidden gems are our specialty at Adventure Fix. And, today we've got a special one for all the divers out there.

The best scuba spots tend to be super remote and difficult to get to, and this one is no exception. Very few diving liveaboards offer this itinerary and the ones that do, don't go there often.Halmahera is a group of islands that are right in the heart of the coral triangle, in-between Indonesia's most famous diving destinations of Raja Ampat and Lembeh.

With its abundant marine life, healthy coral reefs, good visibility, lots of reef sharks, mantas, and rare macro critters, some people say this place is the new Raja Ampat.

Watch this: Halmahera: A distant paradise thriving with life to see if making the trek to this remote island is worth it.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“We enter solitude, in which also we lose loneliness…

True solitude is found in the wild places, where one is without human obligation.

One’s inner voices become audible. One feels the attraction of one’s most intimate sources.

In consequence, one responds more clearly to other lives. The more coherent one becomes within oneself as a creature, the more fully one enters into the communion of all creatures.”
