PADDLING

Heaven's landscape carved by weather from hell

Kayak Patagonia

Imagine waking up in a place where the only sound you can hear is the gentle lapping of water against the shore.

As you unzip your tent, the sun breaks through the clouds, casting a golden glow on the mist that surrounds you. The calm water reflects the light like a mirror, creating a scene of ethereal beauty.

A part from paddling buddy, you haven't seen another soul in weeks. You are in your own private paradise lost in the heart of wild Patagonia.

Your kayaks rest on the beach, fully loaded with over a month's worth of food, fuel, and camping gear, ready for the day ahead.

Then, with a gut-wrenching roar, a tremendous column of mud-brown water rushes into the air, the noise like thunder as ice shatters against ice. Part of the glacier collapsed into a huge lagoon.

House-sized lumps of ice tumble to the end of their thousand-year journey from mountain to sea. You are drawn in by the sapphire crevasses left in the face behind, and you can't help but feel awestruck by the raw power and beauty of it all.

ADVENTURE TRAVEL

Galloping through the steppes of Mongolia

If we had to choose one word to sum up Mongolia's Gobi desert it would be vast.

Tourists usually cross it in a jeep, but we know you aren't one to sit back while life passes you by, so we have a spicier option for ya. Immerse yourself in the landscape and culture of the legendary horseman and women of the steppes by foot and horseback.

Trek among remote nomads in the Kharkhiraa and Tsaast Uul mountains. Watch Bactrian camels graze the fenceless summer pastures that are teeming with wildflowers. Gallop on horseback past alpine lakes and forests set against a backdrop of endless steppes.

This journey is an unforgettable experience where nature and culture come together in a unique and mesmerizing way.

TOGETHER WITH VISIT QUEENSLAND

The most magical wildlife encounter in Queensland

Photo: Queensland, Australia

There's nothing like locking eyes with an ocean giant. Seeing and being seen by such a massive animal is an exhilarating, soul-touching experience. Feeling their songs reverberate throughout your entire body is something you will never forget. You might already know that there are several places in the world to dive with humpbacks, blue whales, and orcas but here's an extra rare encounter to add to your dream list: dwarf minke whales.

Dwarf minkes are mysterious and elusive. The Great Barrier Reef is the only known place where they gather during their migration, giving divers a chance to see them. They come to this part of the world for about six weeks each year between June and July.

When a pod of whales is spotted the engines are cut, and the boat is set adrift. Divers slip into the water, float, and wait. The whales tend to be shy at first, but with some patience, they swim closer each time they pass. They slowly become more playful and curious, often surrounding the group of divers.
