The Falensee (Fälen Lake) hike takes you through the picturesque landscapes of the Swiss Alps to reach a jewel of a lake, nestled between steep rock cliffs and snowcapped peaks.

The lake is next to the Bollenwees Mountain Hut, which is the perfect overnight stay and base camp for exploring the nearby lakes and peaks. The view from the hut is fantastic, and the steaming hot Rösti makes the hike all the more worthwhile.

The nearly black water of Fälen Lake and its constantly changing kaleidoscope of reflections are a favorite among photographers.
