On a remote island in Australia, one of nature’s most remarkable spectacles takes place: the red crab migration.
Every year, over 100 million bright red crabs make their journey from the island's dense forest to the Indian Ocean to spawn. This event usually occurs during the start of the rainy season, typically in October or November, and lasts for about a month.
As the migration begins, the red crabs emerge from their burrows and begin their trek, covering roads, cliffs, and beaches in a sea of crimson.
Nature lovers come from around the world to Christmas Island to see this incredible event each year.
